Push the bottom safety lock switch "on", then you will see the lighter as active with a blue LED light at the base of the lighter.
Slide the ignition button all the way forward to start the plasma arc beam. This beam is the lighting point just like your typical lighter.
For safety, the igniting spark will auto stop beyond 7 seconds per igniting.
Slide the ignition button again, the igniting spark will be re-ignited.
Remember to disable the lighter by switching the safety lock back to "off" before leaving the lighter unattended.
